We are just a little over two weeks away from the start of the 2020 MLB regular season. With that in mind, today we take a look towards the future and examine some of the best future bets for the 2022 season. All odds are via Bet MGM Sportsbook, the official betting partner of the Washington Nationals.

2022 World Series Futures

American League

Toronto Blue Jays +1100

Toronto has one of the best lineups in baseball, led by one of the best young hitters in the game, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. The Blue Jays also added infielder Matt Chapman earlier this month, making their already strong lineup even better. Losing 2021 Cy Young winner Robbie Ray will hurt, but if their pitching staff can hold up this team is more than capable of making a deep postseason run.

Boston Red Sox +1800

The Red Sox shocked the baseball world last season, winning 92 games and making it all the way to the ALCS. Boston went out and recently added Trevor Story to their already talented lineup, giving them a good chance to compete with the other heavyweights in the American League East. Like Toronto, their pitching is a question mark, but their lineup makes it worth taking a flyer at +1800.

National League

Atlanta Braves +1200

There hasn’t been a repeat champion in baseball since the 2000 season, but the Atlanta Braves have as good of a shot to pull it off as any team in recent memory. Atlanta went out and added Matt Olson, Kenley Jansen, and more this offseason, and also will be getting their best player back in Ronald Acuña Jr. The Braves were able to win it last season without Acuña, they easily can win it this year with him. +1200 is far too good a number to pass up on the defending champs.

San Diego Padres +1600

After a red-hot start to the season, the Padres crumbled down the stretch in 2021. Despite not making many big-time additions this offseason, they still have one of the more talented teams in baseball entering the 2022 campaign. Fernando Tatis Jr. will miss some time early with a broken wrist, but he’ll be back soon enough to make a big impact. San Diego is one of the biggest wild card teams in baseball, and they could easily either win 95+ games or lose 80. At +1600, it’s worth taking a flyer on a team with that much star power.

Division Futures

Atlanta Braves +145

I don’t see how the defending champion Braves are not favored to win the division. Getting them plus money is a gift.

Minnesota Twins +600

After adding Carlos Correa, the Twins have a chance to bounce back in a big way this season. At +600, it’s worth a flyer.

Seattle Mariners +450

Seattle is a team I think can make a big leap this season. The Astros lost some key pieces so they are no sure thing to win this division again. At +450, I like the Mariners here.

Season Team Win Totals

1) New York Mets UNDER 90.5

2) Atlanta Braves OVER 90.5

3) Washington Nationals UNDER 70.5

4) Cleveland Guardians OVER 76.5

5) Tampa Bay Rays UNDER 90.5

6) Colorado Rockies OVER 69.5

American League MVP Futures

Mike Trout +450

Trout’s the best player in the game. Anytime you can get him at plus odds it’s worth a chance.

Luis Robert +2500

Robert had a dominant season last year despite playing in just 68 games. The young outfielder has a chance to be one of the best hitters in baseball this season.

National League MVP Futures

Bryce Harper +1000

Harper won it last season on a Phillies team that wasn’t even very good. This year, he’s the centerpiece of one of the best lineups in baseball. At +1000 this is a must-take bet.

Christian Yelich +3000

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Christian Yelich play at an MVP-level, but he is still one of the most talented players in the game. At +3000, it’s worth taking a flyer on this being the year that he finally regains that form.

American League Cy Young Future

Jose Berrios +1400

Berrios pitched well after coming over to Toronto at the deadline last season. If the Blue Jays are able to be a playoff team, Berrios will likely play a big part in that success.

National League Cy Young Future

Walker Buehler +1200

Buehler is going to be the ace of the best team in baseball. Taking a shot on him at +1200 is a no-brainer.

Zack Wheeler +2000

Wheeler nearly won the Cy Young last season on a non-playoff team. The Phillies will be much better as a whole this year, and Wheeler at +2000 could be a gift here.
